MICHAEL GOLDEN

Michael Golden is a highly acclaimed American comic book artist and writer whose distinctive, dynamic style emerged in the late 1970s and influenced an entire generation of artists, notably the original founders of Image Comics (including Todd McFarlane and Arthur Adams). His career began in late 1977 with DC Comics on titles like Mister Miracle and anthology horror books before he moved to Marvel.

Golden is renowned for his influential runs on Marvel's The Micronauts and later, the gritty Vietnam War series The 'Nam. A consummate creator, he co-created the incredibly popular character Rogue in Avengers Annual #10 (1981) with writer Chris Claremont, solidifying his legacy in the Marvel Universe. He also co-created the anthropomorphic space opera character Bucky O'Hare.

Beyond his interior and cover work on properties like G.I. Joe, Rom, and Doctor Strange, Golden also served in executive roles within the industry, including as an Editor at DC Comics in the early 1990s and later as a Senior Art Director at Marvel Comics, shaping the visual direction of both companies.
