MICO SUAYAN

Michael "Mico" Suayan is a Filipino comic book artist celebrated for his highly realistic and detailed style, which brings a distinct intensity to the characters he illustrates. Before his career in comics, Suayan worked as a lead artist and storyboard artist for an advertising company in the Philippines, a background that informed his strong grasp of composition and dynamic visuals.

Suayan got his major break in the American comic industry in 2007 when his portfolio was noticed by Joe Quesada at Marvel, leading to his first published work on a Magneto short story in Marvel Comics Presents. His career rapidly gained momentum with a critically acclaimed run on Moon Knight and other Marvel titles like Thor.

His work on Valiant Comics' Bloodshot Reborn with Jeff Lemire became a huge success, solidifying his status as a fan-favorite artist, particularly for his breathtakingly detailed cover art. Suayan's style, often described as dark and gritty, has made him a sought-after collaborator across all major publishers, including DC, where he has contributed significant covers and interior work on titles such as Batman: Arkham Unhinged and the psychological thriller Joker/Harley: Criminal Sanity for DC's Black Label imprint.
